Setting the Stage

The stage is set, and the excitement is building as we approach the pinnacle of collegiate Rocket League: the Great Lakes CRL Fall Major. This exclusive event is the grand finale of the Fall Split, featuring the top 12 teams out of the 39 that battled for a coveted spot in the Fall Major. Taking place December 2nd and 3rd, this online event, showcased on our Twitch channel, promises intense Rocket League action. The prestigious title of Fall Major Champions is up for grabs, along with a cash prize!

The True Collegiate Experience

What sets the Great Lakes CRL Fall Major apart is its commitment to providing the true collegiate experience. It's the only collegiate Rocket League event that adheres to a professional split format for college students and bans professional players from competing. This ensures that the spotlight remains on collegiate athletes, offering them a genuine taste of RLCS (Rocket League Championship Series) formatted competitive Rocket League.

The Competing Titans

The twelve participating teams include Columbia College Navy, Oakland University, Siena Heights University Saints, Rochester University, Columbia College Silver, University of Kansas Blue, Indiana University Cream, Davenport University, Saint Clair College Green, University of Michigan Maize, Michigan State University Green, and Western Michigan University Gold. Notable favorites for the Fall Major are Columbia College Navy and Rochester University, who dominated this Fall Split. However, a fierce three-way tie for second place between Oakland University, Siena Heights University Saints, and Rochester University promises a tightly contested competition. Last year's champions, Rochester University, will be defending their title, while the raising starts of Indiana University Cream aim to create waves in the Fall Major.

A Format for the Brave

The Fall Major features a double elimination bracket, with the top 8 teams starting in the upper bracket and the bottom 4 teams in the lower bracket. This format creates a thrilling, high stakes competition where every team has a shot at glory. Day one will witness four teams being eliminated, and day to will see the remaining teams battle it out until one is crowned the Fall Major Champion.

What is at Stake

The prize pool for the Fall Major includes $300 for the first-place team, $150 for second place, and $50 for third place. However, the most significant reward is the points that will put a team ahead in the race for an invitation to the year-end championship LAN in May. The winning team also gets to proudly hold the title of Fall Major Champion.

The Impact and Beyond

The Fall Major has a significant impact on the collegiate gaming community. It brings a professional aspect to the collegiate industry, preparing players for potential professional careers. The Fall Major follows a format closer to the RLCS (Rocket League Championship Series) than any other league in the collegiate industry, making it a significant and fan-engaging event. It also promotes universities in the Great Lakes Region, furthering recruitment efforts for Rocket League players pursuing degrees while representing their schools. The Fall Major offers the entire collegiate Rocket League community an opportunity to watch and cheer on their favorite teams, players, and casters, with high-intensity action guaranteed.
